Buying an Australian Labradoodle or Cobberdog from our breeder (Check Price)
The Labradoodle is a hybrid breed resulting from the cross between a Labrador Retriever and a Poodle. Originating from Australia, this gentle and docile dog has one of the most peaceful temperaments in the canine world, making it an excellent companion for families with young children and the elderly. In addition to being hypoallergenic, this breed is highly skilled as a guide dog due to its attentive and obedient nature. Although it is not officially recognized as a breed by canine organizations, its outstanding qualities and adorable appearance make the Labradoodle an increasingly soughtafter pet.

What are Cobberdog like?
Characteristics of the Australian Labradoodle
As a mixed breed, Australian Labradoodles do not have fixed, predictable characteristics. They often share common traits, but the range of variation in these attributes is broad enough that they are not considered an official breed by canine classification organizations. This is not a disadvantage but rather makes each specimen unique and special.
To be more specific, the coat of this hybrid breed can vary significantly, from a rough texture to a very soft one, and can be straight or curly. The most common coat types are long and wavy or curly, though some puppies inherit more genes from the Labrador, resulting in a straighter coat. In terms of color, the most common Labradoodle colors are black, brown, white, cream, and bone.
Like most Labradors and Poodles, from which they descend, dogs of this new breed are friendly, easy to train, energetic, and ideal for family and child-friendly environments. They often show a love for water and swimming, just like their parent breeds, from which they also inherit their high intelligence. This is why these dogs are often used as guide dogs, assistance dogs, or even therapy dogs.
Regarding the establishment of defined characteristics, there is no consensus on whether this dog should be consolidated as a distinct and recognizable breed. There are two breeding approaches for this type of dog: one that focuses exclusively on producing first-generation dogs (by crossing a Labrador Retriever with a Poodle), which promotes genetic diversity; and another that breeds two specimens of this type of dog, aiming to create a new breed. The latter, called Australian or Multigenerational Labradoodles, may have other breeds in their lineage.
As a âdesignerâ dog that combines the best qualities of two of the worldâs most intelligent breeds, buying an Australian Labradoodle at an acceptable price has not been easyâuntil now. Although this dog is relatively new to our country, at My Loving Puppies, we specialize in their professional and ethical breeding, aiming to help dog lovers and families welcome this furry companion into their lives.
When it comes to the types of Australian Cobberdogs, we can differentiate them by size, color, and coat type. The breed standard for size is the Large Labradoodle, which measures between 53 and 63 cm and can weigh between 25 and 42 kg.
The Medium Australian Cobberdog stands between 45 and 51 cm tall and weighs between 20 and 30 kg. Miniature, Mini, or Toy Labradoodles, also referred to as small or dwarf, measure between 35 and 50 cm and weigh between 7 and 12 kg. Some breeders also distinguish a fourth size, the Giant Labradoodle, corresponding to the largest specimens at the upper end of the size spectrum.
The dimensions depend mainly on the size of the parents, as both the Retriever and the Poodle breeds come in various sizes.
On the other hand, since there is no official breed standard, there are no restrictions on allowed colors. In fact, the possibilities are quite varied, as Labradoodles can come in colors such as black, cream, fawn, chocolate, blue, gray, chalk, white, or even spotted.
Regarding their coat, it can be curly or straight, rough or soft, and short or long, with these traits often combined. Despite the diversity, most of these dogs tend to have a long, dense, thick, and abundant coat that covers their entire body, especially the torso, face, and legs.
Labradoodles live an average of 10 to 14 years, which is considered a medium-to-high life expectancy among dogs. They generally enjoy good longevity, though regular vet visits are essential to monitor and track health conditions that may affect this breed. Lifestyle and genetics play a crucial role in the lifespan of this breed.

The Australian Cobberdog and its price
How much does a Labradoodle cost?
You should know that if youâve decided to buy an Australian Cobberdog, its price can vary widely depending on various factors, ranging between 1,800⏠and 4,000âŹ, depending on the breeder, age, gender, or physical characteristics. Therefore, before buying a Labradoodle, you should familiarize yourself with all the factors that influence its price.
Most specimens available from authorized and ethical Labradoodle breeders typically cost between 2,000⏠and 3,000âŹ. Females are more expensive than males, and the genetic quality of the parents, when formally accredited, also affects the cost. Size is another important factor, as small or miniature Labradoodles are priced higher than standard or large ones. Other aspects, such as the puppyâs morphology and beauty, though more subjective, can also contribute to price variations
Sociability with people and other animals
Although the fact of not being a catalogued breed means that it is not present in the official classifications of canine aptitude, this breed enjoys an intelligence superior to most breeds, which is due to the capacity of the breeds that give it origin. This, together with its familiar and good-natured character, makes it an ideal dog for families with children and also for people who need guide, therapy or assistance dogs. It is a dog that also gets along well with most breeds and also with other animals.
How to care for a Pug puppy
Before getting a Labradoodle, it is important to understand the care requirements necessary to ensure its healthy growth and well-being:
- Hygiene: Since the coat of this breed varies significantly from one dog to another, the grooming routine will depend on the specific type of fur. In general, for Labradoodles with long and dense coatsâwhich are the most commonâit is recommended to trim their hair when it exceeds 15 cm in length. Additionally, regular brushing one to two times per week helps maintain coat health and prevent tangles.
- Healthy Nutrition: Due to their high energy levels, Labradoodles tend to have a strong appetite, especially the medium and largesized ones. It is essential to provide them with appropriate food portions based on their age, weight, sex, and lifestyle. Some dogs are prone to overeating or eating too quickly, so portion control is key. Their diet should consist of high-quality kibble or a BARF diet (raw food diet). Foods rich in proteins, omega-3 fatty acids, vitamins, and minerals such as calcium and phosphorus are particularly beneficial for their overall health.
- Exercise and Mental Stimulation: Labradoodles are high-energy dogs that can become bored easily, so they require daily walks, playtime, and interactive activities. Owners should ensure their dog gets multiple walks per day and has plenty of toys available. Their high intelligence makes them adept at learning and completing tasks, so mental stimulation through training exercises is highly recommended.
- Attention and company: Giving them affection and sharing time with them is very important, since this is a breed that needs constant company to be balanced and happy. Loneliness takes its toll on them, making them sad, withdrawn and sometimes anxious.
- Education and training: Their education is very simple as they are intelligent dogs and willing to learn and obey. Socializing them from an early age, they will develop a friendly and outgoing personality that will help their training. Teaching them to eat properly and without excessive whims contributes to reduce their gluttony. Positive reinforcement is fundamental to achieve an enriched and stimulating training.
