It originated from a litter of white-spotted puppies born to a German Yorkie breeder in the 1980s. Werner and Gertrude Biewer, who had been breeding Yorkies for about 20 years, took a special interest in this development. They introduced the black and white Yorkies at a dog show in Wiesbaden. A year later, the breed was officially registered in Germany, but it wasn’t until 2007 that its final breed standard was formally established.

The popularity of this new sub-breed, which has German origins and is relatively recent, is due to several distinctive traits that make it the perfect companion for couples, families, and even single individuals.
